At Pest Safari, we care about the animals that we trap.
All live traps will be checked at least once a day and will be removed or made inoperable over weekends or holidays. (excludes killing traps for rats and mice)
Traps with successful captures will be covered with a blanket or placed within a covering. All animals will be handled gently and carefully to avoid any unnecessary harm.
Depending on breeding seasons, it may be necessary to delay trapping until any young are weaned and able to travel.
Armadillos can be very destructive to your lawn. Armadillos are considered insectivores, smelling insects up to six inches under the soil and then destroying your yard digging them up to eat. Armadillos are also one of the most difficult animals to catch.
Opossums are the only marsupials in North America, unlike their kangaroo cousins, opossums can become a real nuisance when they get into your attic, garage or crawl space under your home. Opossums eat practically anything and can sometimes damage lawns while digging for grubs.
Raccoons are very intelligent animals with hands that allow them to get into almost anything. Many customers have had raccoons entering through dog and cat doors and eat out of food bowls along with pets. This might sound cute however, raccoons are known to carry rabies.
Tree squirrels generally make large nests up in trees. Squirrels can become a danger to your home, when they move into your attic. Squirrels are rodents, so they are almost constantly gnawing. Chewing on the wood in your home and electrical wiring.
Rats and mice can be very destructive to the wood in your home as well as your electrical wiring. Rodents will also destroy and contaminate more food items in your pantry than they eat. Rats and mice may also carry many diseases like, Hanta Virus, Murine Typhus, Salmonella and more.
